"title": "What to check when buying an open-box kids bike seat",
"question": "What should a shopper check when buying an open-box child bike seat?",
"answer": "Thule Yepp 2 Maxi: Open-box items are brand new but were returned or had their box opened, and may show small cosmetic imperfections that do not affect use. Open-box items include everything that comes with a brand-new product, in the original packaging. Testers found the 'childproof' buckle could be undone by strong, determined toddlers, though Thule said it had no reports of children unbuckling themselves; the reviewer suggests the magnetic buckle of the Yepp Nexxt 2 Maxi instead for such children. The manual for Thule Yepp 2 maxi frame mount (120213XX) states compliance with EN 14344:2022. The manual lists the child weight range as 9-22 kg (20-40 lbs); the store's feature text gives 22 kg and its specification list 40 lb, so the sources disagree.\n\nThule-dc Thule Yepp 2 Maxi frame mount (model number 12041201): Store SKU is 12041201-ob. Review testers found that strong, determined toddlers could unbuckle the childproof buckle after watching how it works; the maker reportedly said it had not received reports of this. Manual declares EN 14344:2022.\n\nThule Yepp 2 Maxi Rack Mount: Maximum child height is 43.3 in. Reviewers rate it highly recommended, describing it as a comfortable, adjustable and durable rear seat for toddlers and preschoolers, but flagging the buckle as not suitable for children who might unbuckle themselves. CPSC recall search returned no recall records.",
