"title": "Buying open-box or used stroller carry cots and seats",
"question": "Is it safe to buy an open-box or used carry cot or seat for a stroller?",
"answer": "Bumbleride Era / Indie / Speed Bassinet (also listed as Single Bassinet): Open-box items are brand-new products that were returned or had their box opened, inspected to be complete and safe, and may show small cosmetic imperfections that do not affect use. The bassinet complies with ASTM F-833, SOR/85-379 and EN 1888 safety standards, and its fabric complies with Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations. Bumbleride asks owners to register their product so the brand can contact them only if there is a safety alert or recall; registering on the site means you do not need to post the card that came in the box. Open-box purchases carry a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Open-box purchases are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange. Bumbleride says it partners with a certified reseller to refurbish and resell open-box and gently used gear, and that its strollers hold much of their original value for resale.\nBugaboo Donkey 6 Sibling Seat: Open-box items are brand-new items that were returned or had their box opened, inspected to be complete and safe, and may show small cosmetic imperfections that do not affect use. The Bugaboo Donkey 6 is certified to ASTM F833 (latest version), ASTM F2050 (latest version) and by the Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association (JPMA). A CPSC recall search for Bugaboo-dc / Donkey 6 Sibling Seat returned no recall records. The store's open-box warranty section says purchases include a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, but its product specifications list 2 years; the store's warranty statements disagree. Open-box items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange.\nCybex Mios 3 Lux Carry Cot: Open-box items are brand-new finds that were returned or had box opened; inspected to be complete and safe, may show small cosmetic imperfections. Open-box purchases include a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Open-box items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange. Open-box items include everything you'd get with a brand-new product; ship in original packaging which may look compromised but intact.\nCybex-dc Melio Cot 3: Open-box items are brand-new but may show small cosmetic imperfections; they are inspected to be complete and safe. Open-box purchases include a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. Open-box items include everything a brand-new product would include.\nCybex-dc Mios 3 Lux Carry Cot: Open-box items are brand-new but returned or opened, inspected to be complete and safe, and may show small cosmetic imperfections.
